Foreign Delegation visit to PAF-IAST

A delegation of foreign trainees undergoing training at Pakistan Railways Academy Walton, Lahore, under the auspices of UN, paid a visit to the Center of Excellence in Transportation/ Railway Engineering at Pak Austria Fachhochschule-Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology at Mang, Haripur.
The delegation, led by Mr. Shoab Adil, DG PRA Walton and comprising of participants from various countries like Kenya, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Zambia, Senegal, Sudan and Tanzania were briefed by Dr. Nasser Ali Khan about the working of the university in general and Dr Asim Farooq breifed about the MS Program in Railway System Engineering in particular. The details of the one and a half year MS program were shared with the participants. The participants showed keen interest in the course and expressed their desire to be part of future MS program satisfaction at the capacity building of 27 probationary officers of Pakistan Railways who are undergoing the MS program at PAFIAST. The delegation was given a tour of the different sections of the university and explained the functioning of ‘smart classrooms’, data center, digital library, hostels, etc. Later the delegation paid a visit to the nearby archaeological remains of a Buddhist monastery at Julian. The site is a UNESCO World heritage site pertaining to the ancient Gandhara civilisation.
