Program Description

Health informatics and management system is an interdisciplinary field of study which aims to utilize technology to organize, analyze, manage, and interpret health-related information to improve healthcare quality. Its major goals are to acquire, classify, manage and utilize health-related data to improve healthcare services, standards, practices, policies and clinical care guidelines. In Pakistan, healthcare industry is relatively sluggish when it comes to technology adaptation. Since, the introduction of health information technology for economic and clinical benefits, the adaptation of information technology mainly the electronic health record is the need of the day. The field of health informatics and management is rapidly growing with increased utilization of big data analytics in healthcare. The demand for health informatics and management system jobs is predicted to increase over the next decade and is applied to the areas of biomedical research, nursing, physical therapy, dentistry & clinical pharmacy, allopathic & alternative medicine, occupational therapy, and public health.
