PAF-IAST Conducts Three-Day Self-RIPE Session
PAF-IAST conducted an exhaustive three-day session of the Self-RIPE activity on June 23, 24, and 25, 2025, for the academic year 2024-25. The panel included two distinguished external members: Air Commodore (Retd) Muhammad Ismail, Consultant QA at NUMS, and Mr. Shah Hussain Awan, Deputy Director QEC at AWKUM. Internal members comprised Dr. Zahidullah, Associate Professor and Chairman of ECE at PAF-IAST; Dr. Maqbool Khan, Associate Professor at the School of Computing, PAF-IAST; and Dr. Fazli Wahid, Associate Professor at BHS, PAF-IAST. Dr. Nauman Habib, Manager QEC, served as Secretary to the panel. Together, the reviewers conducted a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation of the Institute’s academic, research, and administrative facets in accordance with HEC prescribed standards.
Opening and Presentation
The activities began with an introductory call by the external members to the Acting Rector, Dr. Sharifullah Khan, followed by a welcome note and a detailed presentation about the Institute by Dr. Nauman Habib, Manager QEC, PAF-IAST.
Document Review and Benchmarking
After the presentation, the panel carefully reviewed the documents submitted by the Institute and assessed them against HEC benchmarks.
Interactive Sessions and Facility Visits
On the second day, interactive sessions were held with administrative heads of departments and sections, HoDs, faculty members, and students from various academic programs to gain insight into their perspectives on the Institute’s operations. The panel also toured the departmental labs, library, Technology Park, BIC, and research facilities.
Feedback and Preliminary Observations
In addition to evaluating the Institute, the visit aimed to gather feedback from all stakeholders and suggest improvements at appropriate levels. The panel compiled its preliminary observations based on the findings.
Exit Meeting and Conclusion
The visit concluded with an exit meeting between the panel and Acting Rector Dr. Sharifullah Khan, during which the panel shared key highlights from the document review and interactive sessions. The session ended with a group photograph.

The panel expressed satisfaction with the Institute’s performance, describing the RIPE as a crucial step toward enhancing the overall quality of higher education institutions. They also commended Dr. Nauman Habib and the QEC team for successfully organizing the activity with effective planning and coordination.
