PAFIAST Welcomes Alex’s Visit for Sustainability Workshop and Award
Mag. Alexander Dumfort from the Department of Environmental, Process & Energy Engineering MCI, Innsbruck, Austria, visited Pak-Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST), for one week starting from January 08, 2024, to January 15, 2024. The main agenda of discussion during his visit was the undergraduate student exchange, joint/dual degree MS program with MCI, Innsbruck, Austria and applied research projects, etc. In addition, he performed several other activities during his visit, as highlighted below:
A seminar was arranged on January 11, 2024, in which Mag. Alexander Dumfort delivered a talk to all students regarding Internationalization, entrepreneurial activities at MCI, the undergraduate student exchange program, and the joint master’s degree program. The students from all departments have shown keen interest in international opportunities and scholarships.
Mag. Alexander Dumfort introduced the “Alex Sustainability Award” in which students were asked to propose creative ideas to address sustainable development goals (SDGs). The winners of the competition were awarded a cash prize along with a small seed grant to execute the project at PAF-IAST. These individuals showcased unparalleled dedication, innovative thinking, and a strong commitment to sustainability in their submissions. Furthermore, a workshop on SDGs was also carried out to highlight the significance of sustainability.
