A delegation comprising of foreign trainees undergoing the United Nations sponsored Advance Railways Course, at Pakistan Railway Academy, Walton, Lahore, paid a visit to the Center of Excellence in Transportation/Railway Engineering (COETRE) at Pak Austria Fachhochschule-Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology at Mang, Haripur.
The delegation jointly headed by Mr. Andrew Bwira of Uganda Railways and Mr. Shahid Samo, Joint Director, PRA Walton, and comprising of railway officials from Ghana, Azerbaijan, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Sri Lanka, were briefed on the functioning of the university and the performance of COETRE in the field of academics, research and skill development.
The delegates expressed keen interest in the working of labs, data center and the smart classrooms. Mr. Andrew, the group leader expressed the hope soon some of them would be joining the MS in Railway Systems Engineering, and present the shield to Dr Asim Farooq.
