PAF-IAST and GCCI Sign MoU for Industry–Academia Collaboration

Strengthening the bridge between academia and industry, Pak Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) to foster innovation-driven industrial growth and strategic collaboration.
The MoU was formally signed on February 14, 2026, by Senior Vice President Mr. Saad Jamil Irfani on behalf of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry GCCI, while Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mujahid, Rector Pak Austria Fachhochschule, represented the Institute. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to aligning applied sciences and advanced technologies with the evolving needs of industry.
Under this collaboration, both institutions will work together to promote joint research and development in emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity. GCCI members will benefit from preferential access to product testing, quality assurance, and validation services, while the initiative will also support the STZA Licensed Technology Park in strengthening industry–research connectivity.
A key focus of the MoU is workforce development through internships, industrial placements, and structured engagement between faculty, students, and industry leaders. Joint seminars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing platforms will further ensure that businesses remain informed about global trade trends, regulatory developments, and technological advancements.
This partnership reinforces PAF-IAST’s mission to deliver industry-relevant education, applied research, and innovation that contributes to sustainable economic growth and positions Gujranwala as a modern, high-tech industrial hub.
