Central Library

The PAF-IAST Central Library is a modern, completely automated, and fully equipped Information Resource Center which supports the academic and research activities at PAF-IAST. Information is coming out in the form of more than 4 million different printed publications per year. This publication rate will increase with further scientific and technological developments. In such scenario of information flood none of the university library can offer you the immediate availability of all publications on site. However, we with our best team of professionals are highly committed and focused towards identifying, locating, acquiring, preserving, and delivering the information/publications relevant to your field of study and work. We are not only giving you the opportunity to borrow literature, but also providing other information services that definitely help you find this library as a learning, information, and communication centre. We aim to grow and develop further our resources, services, and expertise to serve you in a sophisticated way by meeting your information needs. General Collection:

General collection consists of selective books related to the PAF-IAST academic programs. The books on IT & computer science, electrical and computer engineering, biomedical sciences and technologies, chemical and energy engineering, material sciences and engineering, information and digital media design, natural sciences and mathematics, and religion are housed at ground floor of the library.

Reference Collection:

This collection comprise on dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, directories, yearbooks, atlases, etc.

Periodicals Collection:

The PAF-IAST library has been subscribing a number of national and international journals and magazines in print format. The current issues of the periodicals are displayed on ground floor in the main hall. Back volumes of these periodicals are shelved separately in the periodicals section.

Electronic Database:

The library has access to HEC digital library having a number of electronic resources including e-Databases, e-journals, e-books.

• Put your personal belongings such as; laptop bags, handbags, briefcases, etc., on the shelves at the library’s entrance on your own responsibility. You should not leave expensive items as the library disclaims any liability for loss or damage of users’ personal belongings.
• Except for brief and subdued talk with the library staff, observe complete silence in the library. You should ensure that rights of other users of the Library are not breached in anyway.
• Smoking, eating, and sleeping are strictly prohibited.
• Keep your cell phone silent within the library.
• Avoid misuse of library furniture, fittings or equipments.
• Writing, underlining or marking any book are not allowed. Library books are carefully examined on return, by library staff, and the borrower will be held responsible for the harm.
• Reference materials can only be consulted within the library. Borrowing of these materials is strictly prohibited.
• Leave book(s) on the table after reading and not shelve them.
• Keep newspapers back properly at the designated place.
• Reserved books shall be returned on the due date.
• Do not give your library/smart card or checked out material(s) to others.
• Report lost books or other materials to the library immediately to stop overdue fines.
• Research lounge can only be used by faculty, MS/MPhil, PhD and other research scholars.
• Strict disciplinary action will be taken against student(s) who violates rules of the Library.
