Biography

Dr. Amjad Saleem has taught at the Department of English & Applied Linguistics, University of Peshawar, for the last 20 years. He also remained the Chairman of the department for four years. He holds an MA and a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Cardiff University, UK. He also has a diploma in teaching from the UK. His teaching and research interests include Second/Foreign Language Acquisition, Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Discourse and Genre analysis. He supervises MPhil and PhD students in areas related to Second Language Learning, Stylistics and Discourse Analysis. He has won a gold medal for achieving the highest academic standing in his Bachelor’s. He is a freelance translator and a trained IELTS instructor.
