Dr. Danyal Naseer

Assistant Professor

Biography

Dr. Danyal Naseer earned his bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad. He was subsequently awarded fully funded scholarship for MS leading to PhD in Advanced Materials Engineering at the Korea National University of Science and Technology (UST), South Korea. In recognition of his outstanding academic and research performance, he was awarded with ‘Research Paper Award’ and ‘Outstanding Research Assistant Award’ in 2024 and received the ‘Research Excellence Award (Graduation Award)’ in 2025 postgraduate convocation of UST.

During his PhD, Dr. Danyal joined the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS) as a researcher in September 2019, drawn by its state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative research environment. His research specialization is focused on the development of membrane technology for separation and filtration applications with particular emphasis on ceramic membranes

Dr. Danyal has published several research articles in well-reputed international journals and has been actively involved in multiple Korean National Research Projects. He was granted PKR 3 million in research funding under Young Scientist+ Research Program by Korea National University of Science and Technology (UST) as Pl for the project titled “Development of highly hydrophilic/oleophobic ceramic membrane for treatment of emulsified oily wastewater”.

He has presented his research work in several international conferences organized in France, Brazil and South Korea. He is also serving as a reviewer in several reputed international research journals. Dr. Danyal is an active member of The Korean Ceramic Society and The American Ceramic Society.
