Dr. Fazli Wahid, a biotechnologist and biomedical scientist born and raised in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. He has more than 10 years of teaching and research experience. He has completed PhD in 2013 from South Korea and carried out extensive research in diverse areas of biomedical sciences including electrophysiology, molecular neurobiology, nanomedicines, tissue engineering, cancer, and natural product research. His research interests include in vitro and in vivo effects of nanomaterials, polymers, and natural products on the modulation of different signalling pathways in chronic diseases as well as the development of therapeutic biomaterials. He is an active researcher in tissue engineering and especially working on the designing of artificial skin. Dr. Wahid has authored and co-authored over 50 national and international publications with a total impact factor of more than 150. His publication was recognized by the scientific community and got more than 2100 citations. He has supervised/co-supervised more than 15 graduate students and successfully completed 7 research projects as PI/Co-PI. He has filed 2 patents and authored 7 book chapters. Based on Dr. Wahid scientific contributions, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) ranked him 24th among young scientist below 40 years and 124th among all scientists working in the field of biological science including biomedical sciences in Pakistan.
