Biography

Accomplished Chemical Engineer, Academic Leader, and Researcher (Ph.D., P.Eng., F.T.S.C.) with a proven record of excellence spanning Canada, UAE, Australia, and Pakistan. Renowned for advancing innovation in chemical process engineering, environmental sustainability, and renewable energy technologies, with over 25 years of multidisciplinary experience in academia, research, and industry.

A SEDA-UK–accredited teaching professional and Washington Accord–certified OBE evaluator, he is committed to academic rigor, outcome-driven education, and research that addresses global sustainability challenges. Recognized for fostering industry–academia partnerships, securing research funding, and mentoring future leaders, His involvement in research has skilled him in developing, and commissioning of labs.  His cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience has given him the competence to interact with people from different ethnic, socioeconomic, geographic backgrounds.

As Chairman and Associate Professor, he has successfully designed and launched graduate and undergraduate programs, developed national-level curricula for Petroleum and Chemical Engineering, and led high-performing teams through transformative growth. His research sits at the nexus of three urgent and interconnected global challenges: energy sustainability, environmental protection, and material corrosion. These areas are critical to ensuring a stable and healthy future, and he is committed to advancing innovative, practical solutions through interdisciplinary research in chemical and environmental engineering. His scholarly impact includes publications in high-impact international journals, 400+ citations, and 48,000+ global reads, complemented by presentations at 25+ international conferences. In his free time, he serves as a reviewer for some research journals. 

Apart from his educational and research activities, his leadership skills also involve serving his community such as: i) Director of Licensure Assistance Program at Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Canada, ii) Chair, Education Outreach Committee of East Toronto Chapter PEO, Canada, iii) VP Ed at Grosvenor Toastmasters at Toronto, Canada, iv) Member of Ryerson University Senate, Toronto, Canada, etc.
