A Three-Day Faculty Development Program Concluded at Pak Austria Fachhochschule Organized by QEC in collaboration with the Dean’s office and IT section of PAF-IAST organized a series of Faculty Development and Orientation Sessions. These sessions were attended by all faculty members. For three days, Interactive Teaching Pedagogies, Smart Technology Orientation, Turnitin, and Academic Policy Guidelines were covered.
The Spring Faculty Development and Orientation program was designed with the objective to provide an opportunity for the faculty members to get acquainted with modern teaching pedagogies, including interactive classrooms, collaborative learning, and assertion evidence. The first session was delivered by Dr. Muhammad Nauman Habib and Ms. Uzma Khalil. At PAF-IAST, we aim to provide skill-based education, therefore, students-centered approaches are adopted to create a conducive learning environment which was the core of the first session.
PAF-IAST is a smart campus with smart classrooms fully equipped with modern technology. During the session on smart technology, Mr. Syed Ali Raza provided an overview of the technology infrastructure and briefed us on the utilization of smart classrooms and other resources. Furthermore, Dr. Muhammad Nauman Habib conducted a session on plagiarism and detection, the use of Turnitin, and the Plagiarism policy of HEC Pakistan.
The academic activities at PAF-IAST are being standardized with the academic policy guidelines. These guidelines are integral for the successful conduction of all academic activities performed at PAF-IAST. Therefore, Prof. Dr. Sharifullah Khan conducted a session on the rules, regulations, and policy guidelines at PAF-IAST. The objective of this session was to ensure that faculty members are well aware of the policy guidelines for the conduct of class, the code of conduct, examination policies, rules and regulations, and other academic matters.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mujahid, Rector of PAF-IAST appreciated the keen interest of the faculty for their commitment towards “Skilling Pakistan” and for their contribution in attaining the vision of PAF-IAST. During his closing remarks, he praised the efforts of the organizers and resource persons for their effort in the successful conduction of the program.
